Basic Rules:
1. Preterite – Use it for specific, completed actions.
Example:
Ayer fuimos al cine. (Terminó en un momento exacto: “ayer”)
Yesterday we went to the movies. (Finished at a specific time: “yesterday”)
2.Imperfect – Use it for repeated actions or descriptions in the past.
Example:
Cuando era niño, jugaba en el parque. (Era una acción frecuente)
When I was a child, I used to play in the park. (A frequent action)
