Cooking and Spanish
The taste for cooking and food unites us universally. Knowing the popular and intimate recipes of the new place you aspire to belong.
Students learn a broad vocabulary related to cooking and food: nouns, adjectives to describe tastes, smells, textures, diversity of verbs, and adverbs. They learn the variety of structures to give instructions, which in Spanish range from infinitive, impersonal, imperative sentences, or in people like you singular and plural.
Music and Spanish
Songs are cultural, linguistic, and artistic documents. They constitute a powerful resource for teaching and learning a foreign language.
Songs are textual products embedded in a melody, a harmony, and a rhythm, transferred from the song to speech. Songs immerse the student not only in the target language but culture.
Theater and Spanish
The theater’s practice has many benefits, both for the native speaker and a foreign language.
Spanish students who are encouraged to do this practice become more fluent and fluent. They also acquire better pronunciation and prosodic features: intonation, rhythm, pause, speed, typical of the language they are learning.
Conversational Spanish
The practice of conversation while the language learning is very important to make fluid use of the contents that are acquired. It is also very important to preserve and progress in what has already been learned from the language.
Latin Dance
Latin music is perhaps, along with food, the most important cultural icon of the native Hispanic communities. We say Spanish, especially from Latin America, is very musical. We do not want the student to speak our language but also to feel our culture.
When we dance, we feel the rhythm, the color, the warmth of the Latin culture while understanding the songs.
Drama Club
The creation, interpretation and dramatic representation bring with it a number of benefits both for those who practice it experimentally and are native speakers, and those who do it to strengthen the best acquisition of a foreign language. The benefits in the second case are even more. Stage fright is worked on when using the learning language; Speech features such as volume, rhythm, intonation, articulation are promoted; gestures are practiced; you learn about cultural thought and representation; role and shift changes are rehearsed, and more.
